الملخص

COVID-19 pandemic imposed new styles of education global wise, because of curfews, social and physical distancing practices. As a result, online teaching got to be implemented in educational institutions in Libya without introduction and gradual applications of the different levels and school categories including the international ones. This paper attempts to explore perceptions and attitudes of international schools’ teachers in Libya to online teaching during Coronavirus lockdown. In the study, a qualitative research approach was adopted, with questionnaire of 34 questions and interviews for 5 participants. The participants involved in the questionnaire were 51 international school teachers. Inductive data analysis process was followed in analyzing the collected data. However, the findings of the study revealed that attitudes of the teachers towards online teaching experience were varied. Majority of teachers felt that online teaching was stressing and not productive as they were not able to communicate with their students due poor internet infrastructure. They argued that it was struggling teaching experience, and therefore the challenges they faced impacted students learning. Also, teachers did not have previous knowledge about online teaching.
